Half-Life 2's City 17 recreated in the Unreal Engine, looks stunning

HL2-Intro

For some reason, the supply engine is lodged in my mind because the default baseline for what a game seems like. It’s nearly 10 years previous currently, but—because its characters are not the ANgular blockmen of older engines—everything since sounds like an improvement thereon default unit of Graphics. Until, that is, someone decides to post screenshots of their Unreal Engine recreation of the gap map from Half-Life a pair of, at that purpose i am reminded that we have a tendency to sleep in 2014 and have access to exponentially a lot of Graphics.

That someone is setting creative person Jeannot “Logithx” van Berlo, whose UDK remake of town 17’s railroad station may be a lovely factor. And nearly as good as these shots look, van Berlo is currently considering changing his recreation to the newer, sexier Unreal Engine four. Ultro-Graphics!

“Still loads of stuff to try and do like making all the outside stuff, train interiors and a few smaller models (monitors and props) on the other hand Epic discharged UE4 altogether its glory,” van Berlo denote to the Polycount community’s “What ar You operating On?” thread. “Please note that there is countless placeholder models/textures/lighting and general derpyness in these pics,” he writes. “Can’t wait to induce going with UE4.”
