Apple WWDC 2016 – tvOS

Apple’s WWDC is over and Apple has announced many new changes to Software for their existing portfolio of hardware. Including changes to watchOS, iOS, the renamed macOS, and tvOS.

New changes have been made to tvOS’ UI including a black theme(Dark Theme) for TV in a dark room which is often the case when watching TV, you can choose between two of them. There is also ‘Live Tuning’ (apple set to compete against cable operators) which will let users say a command and instantly watch a network’s live stream right through the Apple TV. You have know that it will only be compatible with a few TV channels at launch.

The new Remote app lets users to replace the Siri remote with their iOS device if they want to. Complete with a Siri button for voice commands, the app also makes use of the accelerometer/gyro senor to use gestures and play games on the Apple TV. Finally Apple has decided to add keyboard on your iOS device to make search queries.

Single Sign On which user can sign once for all other app details. This means a connected TV experience is having to log into every network with your TV provider’s credentials. The new update to tvOS will only require that users sign into their provider one time. This will allow users to access all channels available to their subscription.

 

One last feature that was announced: Apple TV will install new channels for your automatically via your Apple ID. this means when you install a new network’s app on your iPhone, the same app will appear on your Apple TV this is cool user don’t need for the app download.
