Google I/O – Google Home

The recent rumors were true about Google developing Amazon Echo competitor. At its developer conference in Google I/O, Google has announced Google Home, a device that’s response to Amazon’s highly successful  Echo line of smart Bluetooth speakers.

Like Amazon’s offerings, Google Home will take voice commands from you (including search you wanted, naturally), it will talk back to you, and it’s also a speaker. So you will play some music on it if you wish.

Unlike the Echo, Google Home supports the Google Cast protocol, so you can even send stuff to that from your phone, tablet, or laptop. You can also tell it to play something on any of the devices you have connected a Chromecast (video or audio), and multi-room playback is supported. It will work with all the services and apps that have already got cast inbuilt support.

Google Home will get to control some of the smart things in your house – light bulbs or a thermostat. Developer support should come back for several different product in latter this fall.

The top a part of the device is standard, but you’ll be able to pick from a variety of various styles for the bottom piece, ensuring that it can utterly match the environment of your home. Far-field microphones ensure it can hear what you say even though you are in a different a part of the area. The speaker will purportedly come back with “strong bass and clear highs”, according to Google.

Unfortunately Google Home doesn’t have any product now for launching. It will added on later this year, and pricing hasn’t been declared.
