Google to Roll Out New Design for News Tab in Search on Desktop results

Google has revealed that it’ll be rolling out a new design for the News tab on the search results page over the coming weeks. The revamped style are limited to the desktop version of Google Search and can be a major departure from the existing look that’s mostly a list of stacks with sorted links on various news things regarding the search term. though not a lot of is understood regarding the new look, it looks cleaner and packs more emphasis on the publisher and their branding.

Google announced the coming change in a tweet via Google News Initiative account. the corporate hasn’t shared several details, however the corporate did say that the new design can reach the users over the next few weeks.

“Over the next couple weeks we’re rolling out a redesigned News tab in Search on desktop,” Google wrote within the tweet. “The refreshed style makes publisher names additional prominent and organizes articles more clearly to assist you discover the news you would like.”

The company has printed a before and once look of the News tab and it shows the redesigned News tab can currently feature a replacement “People conjointly Search For” carousal. The carousal are followed by news results cards which will highlight the publisher name on high, headline within the middle, and therefore the description and publish time at the bottom. The news article image will be present on the right side within the card.

It is unclear if the new style with favour larger publishers. Still, the redesigned News tab goes to impact publishers because it can feature limited range of links, unlike the present version, that highlights a significant chunk of stories.
