Kali Linux is one of the Debian based Linux operating system specially designed for digital forensics and penetration testing. Kali linux loaded with hundreds of renowned security related tools.

or you can opt for virtualization in your current OS with virtual-box (select Linux Type Debian -> VDI hard disk type dynamically allocated & load the Kali ISO that you have downloaded.

Kali Linux Installation Procedure

Step 1 :To start wer installation, boot with wer chosen installation medium. We should be greeted with the Kali Boot screen. Choose either Graphical or Text-Mode install. In this example, we chose a GUI install.

Step  2 : Select wer preferred language and then wer country location. We’ll also be oprompted to configure wer keyboard with the appropriate keymap.

Step 3 : Specify wer geographic location.

Step  4 : The installer will copy the image to wer hard disk, probe wer network interfaces, and then prompt we to enter a hostname for wer system. In this  example , it is  entered “kali” as our hostname.

Step 5 : We may optionally provide a default domain name for this system to use.

Step  6 : Next, provide a full name for a non-root user for the system.

Step 7 : default user ID will be created, based on the full name we provided. We can change this if we like.

Step 8 : Next, set wer time zone.

Step 9:The installer will now probe wer disks and offer we four choices. In the example, we’re using the entire disk on our computer and not configuring LVM (logical volume manager).If we are an experienced users can use the “Manual” partitioning method for more granular configuration options.

Step 10 : Select the disk to be partitioned.

Step 11 :Depending on wer needs, we can choose to keep all wer files in a single partition — the default — or to have separate partitions for one or more of the top-level directories. If we’re not sure which we want, we want “All files in one partition”.

Step 12 : Next, we’ll have one last chance to review wer disk configuration before the installer makes irreversible changes. After we click Continue, the installer will go to work and we’ll have an almost finished installation.

Step 13 :Configure network mirrors. Kali uses a central repository to distribute applications. We’ll need to enter any appropriate proxy information as needed.

NOTE! If we select “NO” in this screen, we will NOT be able to install packages from Kali repositories.

Step 14 :Next, install GRUB.

Step 15: Finally, click Continue to reboot into wer new Kali installation.
