Orkut no longer exist, it was closed in September 2014
Orkut is one of the most popular social networking sites on the internet. It is a simple and easy process to sign in on Orkut. For first time users, registration is required. To register on Orkut, just enter the details which are asked for on the registration web page. The next step is to create a profile on Orkut that would be visible to all, or a selected group ,according your preferences. Once a profile has been created, it is simple to sign in on Orkut with an account name and the password created earlier.
Introduction to Orkut
Orkut is a free social networking service owned and managed by Google. Similar to Facebook, the service is designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships.
Some of Orkut’s key features include a Profile that lists personal, social, and professional details, the ability to upload photos onto user profiles, and the ability to integrate YouTube or Google Video files onto their pages.
In addition to these basic profile features, Orkut integrates GTalk onto its platform, enabling users to chat and share files. Users can also create individual communities, or groups to allow for more personal communication.
How To Sign In to Orkut
To access the site, go to the Google homepage, and click on the More tab.
In the menu that opens, click on And more. A list of Other products will appear. Go to the Communicate, publish and share option, and choose Orkut.
A new window will open:
Enter your email and password in the appropriate fields, and then click on Login.
In the window that appears, click Continue and follow the instructions to accept the terms and conditions
You will now complete your profile. Note that any field marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Fields followed by a yellow key may be partially or completely hidden when certain members view your profile. Choosing Friends from the dropdown menu to the right of the key signifies that only people listed as your friend can view that information.
When you are done entering your information, click on Finish to save your information.
