In a bid to minimize fake news on its platform, WhatsApp is currently testing a brand new feature among its groups Settings to assist users stop sending “Frequently Forwarded” messages.
The Facebook-owned platform is already working on 2 options which will help its over 1.5 billion users know how persistently a message has been forwarded.
The “Forwarding Info” and “Frequently Forwarded” options aren’t obtainable yet however WhatsApp is working on these options in its Beta update for android, same wabetainfo.com that tracks WhatsApp updates.
Now, in the “2.19.97 beta update, WhatsApp is testing a new feature in groups that allows to settle on to stop causing frequently Forwarded Messages within the group,” it said.
The option will be available in group Settings and only administrators will see and edit it.When the feature is enabled, nobody are going to be able to send a frequently Forwarded message within the group.
A user will copy the frequently Forwarded message and send it as a brand new message however this may slow the process.
A message is usually Forwarded once it’s been forwarded more than four times.Currently, WhatsApp has limited the forwards to a most of five in India.
