In what may come as a big surprise for the tech business, Xiaomi is reportly intending to launch its third sub-brand not long from now. While the organization’s current sub-brands Mi and Redmi basically concentrate on online retail, the up and coming sub-brand (name unknown yet) has been tipped to concentrate particularly on the offline retail market to compete with other smartphone producers from China.
Chinese news site My Drivers reports that the third brand is being launched to contend with any likes of Oppo and Vivo, subsidiaries of BBK Electronics, which have expanded their offline presence in China through retail locations the country over, as pointed out in a report by GSM Arena. While Xiaomi has a solid presence in online space, its close absence in offline stores has left space for different brands to develop.
Interestingly, another Xiaomi smartphone, allegedly from the up and coming third sub-brand, has additionally been launched in a render picture. The double camera setup and the reception apparatus lines propose that the phone will acquire plan components from Oppo R11 Plus and as of recently released OnePlus 5 (which itself shares stylish likenesses to the iPhone 7 Plus).
